DAY ONE

Game 1:  Placentia, CA (14) vs. San Cristobal, Dominican Republic (0)

Placentia, California put together a complete performance on Friday at Aviara Community Park, defeating San Cristobal, Dominican Republic 14-0 behind a powerful offensive showing and lights-out pitching. Placentia wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, erupting for five runs in the top of the first inning. L. H hit into a fielder’s choice that brought home two runs, A. R followed with a two-run double, and T. D capped off the inning with a groundout that scored one.


The momentum continued in the second inning as J. P singled to drive in a run, and L. added a sacrifice fly that plated two more, pushing the lead to 8-0. Placentia tacked on three more runs in the third, with D. O lacing a double down the left field line, J. N following with a single, and J. scoring on a sacrifice fly. San Cristobal's starting pitcher, R., battled through three innings, giving up eight hits and 11 runs (eight earned), striking out one and walking three. Meanwhile, T. took the mound for Placentia and delivered a dominant outing, throwing three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven and walking two.


W. A and G. D each recorded a hit for San Cristobal, but the offense struggled to get anything going against Placentia’s strong pitching. 


Placentia, California’s offense racked up 11 hits in the game. T. E, J., and O. R each tallied two hits, while L. and A. R led the team with three RBIs apiece. On the basepaths, C. P swiped two bases as part of a seven-steal effort from the team.



Defensively, Placentia played a flawless game, committing no errors and turning in sharp execution across the board. J. led the team in defensive chances with eight. Placentia, California’s all-around performance proved too much for San Cristobal, who will look to bounce back in their next matchup.

Game 2: Tokyo, Japan (11) vs. McAllen, Texas (0)

Tokyo, Japan cruised to an 11-0 victory over McAllen, Texas on Friday at Aviara Community Park, fueled by a six-run outburst in the bottom of the second inning. The scoring started in the first when I. O drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and Y. S followed by lining into a double play that still managed to plate another run, giving Tokyo an early 2-0 advantage.


The second inning proved to be the difference-maker. H. N tagged up to score on a deep fly ball, I. O drew a bases-loaded walk, and K. F delivered the big blow — a three-run homer to right field — breaking the game wide open and extending the lead to 8-0. Tokyo added another run in the third on a groundout by W. G and tacked on two more in the fourth to cap off the scoring.


H. H got the start for Tokyo and was dominant, tossing 2.1 innings of one-hit ball while striking out five and walking just one. K. T and Y. H followed in relief, combining for 2.2 scoreless innings to preserve the shutout. K. F powered the offense, going 1-for-1 with three RBIs. Tokyo’s balanced lineup saw contributions up and down the order, as H. S, M. M, R. N, and K. F all recorded hits. Tokyo showed strong discipline at the plate, drawing 10 walks. K. F and R. N each earned two free passes.


Tokyo's aggressive base running was on full display, as they swiped an impressive 19 bases — with Y. S, W. G, M. M, R. N, and I. O each collecting multiple steals. Defensively, Tokyo was rock-solid, committing no errors and turning a double play. K. H led the defense with five putouts. S. O recorded the lone hit for McAllen, going 1-for-2. McAllen also turned a double play in the contest but couldn’t overcome Tokyo’s early offensive surge.

Tokyo, Japan will play the winner of Game 4: Chicago, IL vs. Culiacan, Mexico on August 2nd at 7:30PM. McAllen, TX will play the loser of Game 3: Laredo, TX vs. Venetia, PA on August 2nd at 5:00PM.


Game 3: Laredo, Texas (5) vs. Venetia, PA (4)


Laredo, Texas held off a late push from Venetia, Pennsylvania to secure a hard-fought 5–4 victory on Friday at the 2025 Pony-13 World Series. Venetia struck first in the top of the first inning, as A. S grounded out to bring home a run and give the Pennsylvania squad an early 1–0 lead. But Laredo responded quickly and decisively in the bottom of the second. After K. D laced a single to drive in the tying run, A. G came up big with a three-run double, giving Laredo a 4–1 lead and shifting momentum in their favor.


Venetia continued to fight, cutting the deficit with runs in the third and fifth innings, but Laredo managed to tack on an insurance run and hold off the late rally.


On the mound, Laredo got a solid start from D. O, who allowed just one earned run and one hit over 2.1 innings, striking out four and walking two. M. E entered in relief and played a key role in preserving the win, throwing four innings and allowing two runs on four hits while striking out two. C. O started for Venetia and pitched 1.1 innings, giving up two hits and two runs while striking out one.


Offensively, Laredo was led by O. R and K., who each collected two hits. A. G drove in a team-high three runs with his key double. On the basepaths, Laredo was aggressive and successful, swiping six bases—two apiece from K. and L. C. The Texas squad also stayed sharp on defense, turning a double play to help stop a potential Venetia rally.


Venetia, Pennsylvania had a solid day at the plate, with R. L going 2-for-4 to lead the team in hits. A. D and A. S each added an RBI. Defensively, Venetia turned two double plays to stay in the game and keep Laredo from pulling further ahead. In the end, Laredo’s early offensive burst and consistent pitching were just enough to seal the narrow win and advance further in tournament play.

McAllen, TX will play Venetia, PA on August 2nd at 5:00PM. Placentia, CA will play Laredo, TX on August 2nd at 5:00PM. 


Game 4: Culiacan, Mexico (21) vs. Chicago, Illinois (1)

Culiacán, Mexico exploded offensively on Friday, cruising to a 21-1 victory over Chicago, Illinois at Aviara Community Park. The star of the game was D. B, who delivered a monster performance at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs, going deep in back-to-back innings.


Culiacán got things rolling early, putting up two runs in the top of the first after an error by Chicago and a sacrifice fly from H. A. But the second inning proved to be the knockout blow, as Culiacán erupted for 12 runs on a barrage of hits, walks, and aggressive baserunning. O. G drew a walk to force in a run, followed by L. L’s two-run single. J. Z then ripped a two-run double, and D. B crushed his first home run of the game to center field, scoring two more. The inning continued with a single from J. P to score another run, a successful steal of home, a two-run single from J., and an RBI double by D. to cap the scoring outburst.


The offensive onslaught didn’t stop there. In the third inning, Culiacán tacked on seven more runs. An error by Chicago allowed two runs to score, and N. G followed with a two-run double. D. B then launched his second home run of the game—another shot to center—bringing in two more runs. R. C added a single to score the final run of the inning.


On the mound, D. C started the game for Culiacán and set the tone early, pitching one inning of shutout ball while striking out two and allowing just one hit. R. came in as relief and maintained the dominance, throwing one hitless inning and recording a strikeout without allowing a walk.

Culiacán tallied 14 hits overall and showed great discipline at the plate, drawing nine walks. R., J., L., and O. all recorded multiple hits, while H. N led the team with three walks. On the bases, Culiacán was relentless, stealing 14 bases—led by multi-steal efforts from J., L., H., and G. G. Chicago’s offense was limited, but M. M, A. B, and D. R each collected one hit, with M. M driving in the team’s only run while going 1-for-2 at the plate.



Culiacán’s commanding performance showcased their offensive depth, pitching efficiency, and base-running aggression as they continued to assert themselves as one of the most dominant teams in the 2025 Pony-13 World Series.

Game 5: Smithfield, VA (14) vs West Raleigh, NC (12)

West Raleigh, NC stayed in it until the end, but Smithfield, VA pulled away late in a 14-12 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at 12 in the top of the eighth when Benjamin S grounded out, scoring two runs.


William B collected three hits in five at bats in the loss. William B singled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.


Smithfield, VA opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two errors. Smithfield, VA first got on the board when an error scored one run.


Smithfield, VA added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Connor J grounded out, West Raleigh, NC committed an error, and Daniel H singled to center field, each scoring one run.

West Raleigh, NC tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a single by William B, a ground out by William W, and a single by Max C.


Smithfield, VA took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Barry P singled up the middle, and Simon G laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run.


West Raleigh, NC scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jackson S singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Matthew R singled, scoring one run, and Max C grounded out, scoring one run.


Matthew R opened the game for West Raleigh, NC. The pitcher allowed seven hits and seven runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Game 6: Chengdu, China (2) vs Chesterfield, VA (19)

Chengdu, China had trouble keeping up with Chesterfield, Virginia in a 19-2 loss on Saturday.


Chesterfield, Virginia got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after HYATT H singled down the right field line, JACE B doubled to center field, JACK L singled down the right field line, Chengdu, China dropped a third strike, and Chengdu, China committed an error, each scoring one run.


Chesterfield, Virginia scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning. JACE B singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, ZHENGYE A induced JACK S to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, BAYLOR J doubled, scoring two runs, and YARIEL R doubled, scoring one run.


Chesterfield, Virginia scored eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the third inning. DANIEL W singled, scoring one run, JACK L singled, scoring two runs, BAYLOR J singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, JACKSON M doubled, scoring two runs, and DANIEL W singled, scoring one run.


BRENDAN Z started the game for Chengdu, China. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and 10 runs (five earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. Both teams were strong on the bump on Saturday, but Hidalgo, Texas was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Navajoa, Mexico.


A sacrifice fly by ALBERTO D put Hidalgo, Texas on the board in the top of the second.


MARCO L earned the win for Hidalgo, Texas. The starter gave up two hits and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. MIGUEL R took the loss for Navajoa, Mexico. The reliever went four innings, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking none. JOEL R earned the save.


RAMON F, DANIEL G, MAXIMILIANO L, MIGUEL R, and Santiago H each collected one hit for Navajoa, Mexico.

SHUJIN Z grounded out, which helped Chengdu, China tie the game at one in the top of the second.


A ground out by MU H gave Chengdu, China the lead, 3-1, in the top of the third.


West Raleigh, NC jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Matthew R singled, scoring one run, and William W doubled, scoring two runs.


West Raleigh, NC scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Cameron W lined out, scoring one run, Ryan R singled, scoring one run, Matthew R singled, scoring one run, Myles W doubled, scoring one run, William W tripled, scoring one run, and one run scored on another play.

Smithfield, VA got on the board in the first inning after Simon G singled, scoring one run.


RAMSES D singled down the right field line, which helped Barranquilla, Colombia tie the game at one in the top of the second.

In the bottom of the second inning, Smithfield, VA went back into the lead after Smithfield, VA scored on a passed ball, and Jeff P singled up the middle, each scoring one run.


Smithfield, VA scored eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the third inning. Connor J singled, scoring one run, Jayden C singled, scoring one run, Thomas T tripled, scoring three runs, Jeff P singled, scoring one run, Barry P grounded out, scoring one run, and Titus D drew a walk, scoring one run.


Titus D earned the win for Smithfield, VA. The starter allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking none. ANDRES M took the loss for Barranquilla, Colombia. Navajoa, Mexico opened the scoring in the first after MAXIMILIANO L doubled, scoring one run.


Chesterfield, Virginia captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the second when JACK S singled, scoring one run, and YARIEL R doubled, scoring two runs.


Navajoa, Mexico jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after JAVIER R singled to the left side of the infield, DANIEL G singled down the left field line, Santiago H singled to the left side of the infield, and Chesterfield, Virginia committed an error, each scoring one run.


Chesterfield, Virginia made the score 6-5 in the top of the third after an error scored two runs, and BAYLOR J singled, scoring one run.

Navajoa, Mexico jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after JAVIER R singled to the left side of the infield, and Navajoa, Mexico scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

Smithfield, VA snatched the lead late in their 4-2 victory over Hidalgo, Texas on Monday. The game was tied at two in the top of the fifth when Benjamin S laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs.


Smithfield, VA got on the board in the top of the first inning after Benjamin S doubled down the left field line, and Connor J singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Hidalgo, Texas tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by JOEL R, and a wild pitch.
