In game eleven of the 2019 Bronco-11 World Series (B11WS), Navojoa, Mexico defeated Chicago, Illinois 11-1 in a shortened six inning, 10 run rule game. Throughout the game, Navojoa relied on Angel Tajia’s pitching. Tajia gave up only one earned run and struck out eight over 5.2 innings pitched.
Chicago plated one run in the top of the first to open the scoring. Rahjon Williams singled with one out before stealing second. Miles Warner doubled, scoring Williams for the first run of the game.
Navojoa scored two runs in the bottom of the first to respond. Franco Mendoza hit into a fielder’s choice that scored Emiliano Ibarra for Navojoa’s first run. Tajia knocked in Kevin Palafox for Navojoa’s second run.
Navojoa expanded its lead in the bottom of the third, scoring four more runs. Pablo Rodriguez grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Tajia to open the scoring for the evening. Sebastian Enriquez singled to left field, knocking in Ivan Gutierrez to give Navojoa a 4-1 lead. A defensive error allowed Rodriguez to score. Diego Gomez singled to center field, scoring Enriquez for Navojoa’s fourth and final run of the inning.
Navojoa added another run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-1 lead over Chicago. Ibarra lead off the inning with a walk, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Another wild pitch allowed Ibarra to score.
Navojoa scored four more runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. Luis Rocha hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring Gutierrez. Rodriguez scored Navojoa’s second run of the inning on a wild pitch, giving Navojoa a 9-1 lead. Ibarra singled to right field, which scored Antonio Moreno. Navojoa’s final run came from Palafox’s RBI double to center field that scored Ibarra.
Navojoa will face Redondo Beach, Californioa in the 2019 B11WS Championship Game at 6:00 p.m. ET/US on Monday, July 29. Chicago ends it 2019 B11WS run after compiling a 2-2 record in the tournament.
